The Website status settings allow you to control your website’s visibility and manage which domain name visitors use to access your site.
Open the site settings
- Open the site builder.
- Click the main menu icon located in the top left corner of the top bar.
- Select Settings.
4. Inside the Settings area, click Website status.
Set your site online or offline
Use the Site visibility dropdown to control whether your website is publicly accessible.
Select Online to make your website visible to visitors.
Select Offline to hide your website from the public. This is useful when building your site, making major updates, or preparing content before launch.
Choose a preferred domain
If multiple domain names are connected to your website, you can choose which one should be considered the primary domain.
To set a preferred domain:
- Locate the Preferred domain dropdown.
- Select the domain name you want visitors to see in their browser.
For example, your site may be accessible using:
mywebsite.comwww.mywebsite.commywebsite.publish-domain.com
Selecting a preferred domain ensures your website has one consistent public address.
Redirect visitors to the preferred domain
Enable Always redirect to preferred domain to automatically send visitors to your selected primary domain, regardless of which connected domain they originally use.
For example, if your preferred domain is mywebsite.com and a visitor enters www.mywebsite.com, they will automatically be redirected to mywebsite.com.
Using a preferred domain helps maintain consistent branding and prevents visitors and search engines from accessing multiple versions of the same website address.
