Privacy options allow you to create and manage important policy pages for your website, such as your Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Legal Policy, and Accessibility Policy.
Once enabled, these pages can automatically appear in your website's footer and help provide important information to your visitors.
Open the Privacy options settings
- Open the site builder.
- Click the main menu icon located in the top left corner of the top bar.
- Select Settings.
4. Inside the Settings area, click Privacy options.
You will now see the available privacy policy pages you can configure for your website.
Available privacy pages
There are four different policy pages you can enable.
Privacy Policy
Enabling the Privacy Policy page will:
- Add a confirmation checkbox to most forms on your website
- Link the checkbox to your Privacy Policy page
- Add a link to the page in your website footer
You will need to republish your website for any changes to become visible online.
Cookie Policy
Cookie regulations vary depending on your country or region, so it is recommended that you research the requirements relevant to your location.
Your published website uses two types of cookies:
- Third-party cookies used for:
- Social media
- Advertising
- Performance monitoring
- Support services
- Essential cookies used for core website functionality
Visitors who decline third-party cookies may not be able to view some external or embedded content on your website.
Legal Policy
Enabling the Legal Policy page will add a link to the page in your website footer.
You will need to republish your website for any changes to become visible online.
Accessibility Policy
Enabling the Accessibility Policy page will add a link to the page in your website footer.
You will need to republish your website for any changes to become visible online.
Configure a policy page
Each policy section includes several settings that can be customised.
- Enable the page
Use the toggle switch to enable or disable the policy page. - Page title
The page title appears in the browser tab when visitors open the policy page. - Header text
The header text appears at the top of the automatically generated policy page. - Link text
The link text is what visitors will see in the footer of your website. - Page URL
The Page URL controls the web address where the policy page will be published. - Body text
The body text contains the main content of your policy page. This is where you can add your legal or informational text.
Publish your changes
Once you have finished configuring your privacy pages, do not forget to publish your website to make the changes visible online.
