What is Zapier?
Zapier is a tool that helps different apps and services work together without any coding knowledge.
Imagine you could set up automatic tasks between your website and other apps like Gmail or Mailchimp—this is what Zapier does for you. With just a few clicks, you can create a "Zap," an automation that links two or more services.
Why is Zapier useful?
Zapier saves you time by automating repetitive tasks. For example, when a customer buys something from your website, Zapier can automatically send them a discount code via email, without you lifting a finger. There is no need to check orders manually or send codes one by one!
You can also use Zapier for other useful tasks, like automatically generating invoices when a purchase is made, keeping your client database updated with new customers, or even sending an email with a link to a video after someone books a service. For instance, if you run a yoga studio, you could send a video introduction to yoga so your customers can watch it before their appointment - everything happens in the background, without any extra work on your end.

Create a Zap
- Log into your Zapier account
- Click on the + Create button located to your left on the Zapier home page
- Select Zaps from the list to create your new Zap
In Zapier, you need two parts to create an automation: a trigger and an action.
Trigger: This is what starts the automation. For example, the trigger will be when a customer makes a purchase over 50€.
Action: This is what happens after the trigger. In our case, Zapier will send an email with a discount code to the buyer.
First, you set up the trigger (the purchase), and then the action (sending the email) follows automatically.
Configure your trigger
- Click on the trigger card
- Type BaseKit in the Search field
- Select the BaseKit Sitebuilder option
- Select the trigger event. In this case, we use 'Store Order Updated'
- Click on Sign in to connect your site to Zapier
The data that will be requested from you next can be found within your site builder. You will need to:
- Click on the Main Menu
- Select Integrations
- Click on the View API Credentials button
Use these credentials to allow Zapier access to your Sitebuilder account.
Set up a filter
We want to send our customers an email containing a discount code, but only if their purchase is above €50. For this purpose, we need to set up a filter.
- Add a step in between the Trigger and the Action
- Select Filter by Zapier from the list
Set up your filter conditions, and Continue.
Configure your Action
For the action, we want to send an email with a discount code to our buyers. We will use Gmail for this.
Configure all the relevant fields for the e-mail you want to send.
Test and Publish your Zap
Click on Continue and then Test Step. You should receive an example email in your inbox.
Publish your changes and that is it. Next time someone purchases over €50, they will receive the e-mail in their inbox.
