Inventory tracking allows you to keep track of your product stock, display low stock warnings to customers, and receive email notifications when stock is running low.

Enable inventory tracking

Open the product you want to edit in the Store plugin, and scroll down to the Inventory section.

By default, inventory tracking is disabled. To enable it, change the Inventory dropdown to Track inventory for this product.

Once enabled, you can:

• Set the Available stock for the product.
• Choose when you'd like to receive an email notification by entering a value in Notify me when stock level reaches.
• Decide whether customers can continue purchasing the product after it goes out of stock by enabling Allow customers to purchase when out of stock.

Low stock notifications

When a product's stock reaches the notification level you have set, you'll receive an email alert.

If customers are not allowed to purchase out-of-stock products, a low stock message is also displayed on the product page to let them know how many items remain.

If Allow customers to purchase when out of stock is enabled, this low stock message is not displayed.

Manage stock for product variants

If your product has variants, such as different sizes or colours, each variant has its own stock level.

Scroll up to the Optional Product Details section and click Edit next to Variants.

From there, you can set the available stock for each variant individually.
