You can control how your products appear in search engines by updating their SEO title, description, and page URL.
Get to your product
Log in to the Site Builder, then:
- Open the main menu (top left)
- Click Store
- Go to Products
- Select a product
Find the SEO settings
Scroll down to Optional Product Details and find Search engine optimisation.
Using the default settings
You’ll see a toggle called Use product name and description.
When this is enabled, everything is handled for you. The product name becomes the SEO title, the product description is used as the meta description, and the page URL is automatically generated from the product name.
If you’d prefer to define exactly what appears in search engines, simply turn this option off.
Setting your own SEO details
Once you disable the toggle, you’ll be able to enter your own SEO details.
You can customise:
- Product name, which will be used as the SEO title
- Meta description, which appears under the title in search results
- Page URL, which defines the product’s web address
As you make changes, the preview will update in real time so you can see how your product may appear in search engines.
It’s important to note that these changes only affect how your product appears in search results. The product name and description shown on your website will remain unchanged.
However, if you update the page URL, the product’s link will also change.
Save your changes
Once you’re happy with your changes, click Save to apply them.
Search engines may take up to 2 weeks to reflect your updates, as they need time to crawl and index your site.
