To add a product to the online store, you need to fill in four mandatory fields:
- Product name
- Product description
- Product image
- Price
Additionally, there are many other optional fields which we will explore here.
Add a new product
Navigate to the Products tab in the Store app's left-hand side menu.
Click on the Add Product purple button to add a new product to your store.
Title and description
Product Title: Keep it short and descriptive.
Product Description: You can be as detailed as you like.
Use the formatting toolbar to style your product description content.
Adding product images
To add images, click the + button below the Product Images heading.
If you upload multiple images, you can choose which one to display as the feature image on your website:
- Hover over the image you've uploaded.
- Click the More button (⋮) that appears.
- Select Set as Feature Image.
Categories and tags
To help visitors find your product easily, add categories and tags.
You can find this option at the top right and edit it anytime.
Add a price
To complete adding a product:

Set the Price: Enter the price of the product. If the currency is not what you need, adjust it in Store Settings > Basic settings > Currency and Formats.
- Select the tax: If you have enabled tax in Store settings > Tax, you can select the tax rate for your product here.
Product information
1. Add weight for shipping
If applicable for weight-based shipping costs, enter the product's weight.
2. SKU
If enabled from Basic settings > Sorting and stock, you can set up SKUs for your products.
Inventory
You can track inventory for this product as an option.

Enter your available stock and set a low-stock threshold to receive email notifications.

If you want customers to be able to purchase the product when it's out of stock, enable the corresponding option in the inventory settings.
When the product is out of stock, customers won't be able to purchase it unless you allow backorders.
