What is a Slideshow Widget?
A slideshow widget allows you to display a sequence of images one at a time. Unlike the gallery widget, where all images are shown as thumbnails, the slideshow presents one image that fades into the next after a few seconds. It’s perfect for creating a dynamic visual display, where your images smoothly transition to tell a story or showcase content in a more engaging way.
Slideshow Widget Limitations
To keep your site running smoothly, we recommend:
- A maximum of 10 images per slideshow.
- No more than 3 slideshows per page to prevent slow loading times.
Add your images
To add your images to the Slideshow widget:
- Click on the Slideshow widget placed on your page
- Click on the Manage images button
- Click on the Add images button
- Upload your images
Tick the box next to the images you want to add to your slideshow. You can always add or remove images later if needed. Then click on the yellow Add images button.
Image settings
Select one of the images on the right and edit its settings on the left. You can:
- Add a Link to the image
- Add a Title and a Description. Both will be shown on top of the image slide.
- Remove the image from the slideshow
Rearrange your images
Simply drag and drop the images to rearrange them.
Slideshow settings panel
Each slideshow comes with several customization options in the settings panel:
Transition Settings
- Transition Type: Choose between Fade, where one image fades into the next, or No Effect, where the image changes instantly without any transition effect.
- Duration: The amount of time each slide is visible before transitioning to the next.
- Speed: The time it takes for one image to transition to the next.
Image Settings
- Show Image Title: Enable or disable the display of the image's title to your visitors.
- Show Image Description: Choose whether or not to show the image's description.
- Crop Image: Adjust the image to fill the entire slideshow area for a uniform look.
Display Options
- Show Buttons: Enable or disable buttons that allow users to move forward or backward through the slideshow.
- Allow Pause: Enable or disable a pause button that appears when the slideshow is hovered over.
- Show Bullets: Display small indicators (bullets) to show how many images are in the slideshow. This can be enabled or disabled.
- Allow Loop: Enable or disable looping, so when the slideshow ends, it starts again from the beginning.
