What is a Gallery Widget?
A gallery widget allows you to display a collection of images on your page in a variety of styles. You can create anything from a simple grid of images to a more complex masonry layout. It’s a great way to showcase photos, artwork, or any visual content in an organized, attractive way.
Gallery Widget Limitations
To ensure your site performs smoothly, we recommend:
- A maximum of 75 small images (around 10 KB each) or 20 large images (around 9 MB each) per gallery widget.
- Limiting the number of gallery widgets to 2 per page for optimal performance.
Placing a gallery on your page
There are two easy ways to add a gallery widget to your page:
Add a Gallery section
- Click the Add Content button.
- Select Add Content from the dropdown
- On the left, choose the Gallery and Slideshows category
- Choose a Gallery Section to place it on your page
Why use this option? Gallery sections come with different layouts. This lets you switch between styles, such as galleries with spaces between images, no spaces, or a cool masonry layout.
Add a Gallery widget
- Click the Add Content button.
- Select Add Widget
- Find the Gallery Widget on the left-hand side menu
- Drag and drop it onto your page.
Why use this option? You can add the gallery to an existing section without needing to create a new one, giving you more flexibility in placement.
Add your images
To add your images to the gallery:
- Click on the Gallery widget placed on your page
- Click on the Manage images button
- Click on the Add images button
- Upload your images
Tick the box next to the images you want to add to your gallery. You can always add or remove images later if needed. Then click on the yellow Add images button.
Image settings
Select one of the images on the right and edit its settings on the left. You can:
- Add a Link to the image
- Add a Title and a Description. Both will be shown on hover in the published website
- Remove the image from the gallery
Rearrange your images
Simply drag and drop the images to rearrange them.
